AlphaOscar, 6 rue d'Armaillé, 75017 Paris, France. VAT number FR47910288299. Registrar Domains is a service of AlphaOscar. SARL au capital de 1 EUR, RCS Paris 910 288 299, SIRET 91028829900027.
Registrar
We register every domain through Openprovider (Hosting Concepts B.V., Rotterdam, the Netherlands, trade register 24277249), a registrar accredited by ICANN and by the registries of the extensions we sell. Your registration is also bound by the registry's own rules and by Openprovider's registration agreement, which you can read with its other policies at openprovider.com/company/policies. For .com, .net, .org, .xyz, .dev and .app, ICANN's Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities apply.
What you buy
The registration of a domain name for the period shown in the quote. The registrant you name is the legal holder of the domain. You can manage it from your dashboard or through an agent you connect: DNS records, nameservers, the transfer lock and the transfer code.
Who can register
Most extensions we sell are open to anyone. Some have residence rules that the registrant must meet for as long as the domain exists, and some refuse short names:
- .fr: A person who lives, or an organisation whose registered office or main establishment is, in a European Union member state, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland. The holder must stay reachable by phone and email. (Afnic Naming Policy, version of 6 July 2026, article 5.1).
- .re, .pm, .tf, .wf and .yt: the .fr residence rule above. Afnic runs them under the same policy (Afnic Naming Policy, version of 6 July 2026, articles 1.1 and 5.1). .re, .pm, .tf, .wf and .yt names must be at least 3 characters long before the dot (Afnic Naming Policy, article 2.2). .fr has no such limit. Read article 2.2 of the Afnic Naming Policy.
- .eu: A citizen of an EU member state, wherever they live; a person who lives in the EU; or a company or organisation established in the EU. The same applies to Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. (EURid .eu Terms and Conditions, section 3(a), applying Regulation (EU) 2019/517, article 3).
A registration that does not meet these rules can be suspended or deleted by the registry, with no refund. Each extension page states its rules.
Prices and payment
Prices are in US dollars, shown before VAT. VAT is added at payment where it applies. The price shown is the price charged. The renewal price is shown before you pay and follows our registrar's cost. Payment is taken by card through Stripe before the domain is registered. Each paid order has a numbered invoice showing the VAT.
Right of withdrawal
A consumer has 14 days to withdraw from a distance sale. That right does not apply to a service fully performed before the end of those 14 days, at the consumer's express request and with their acknowledgement that the right is then lost (Code de la consommation, article L221-28). A registration is performed within minutes. So before payment you tick this statement: "I ask for the registration to start at once, and I accept that I lose my 14-day right of withdrawal once the registrar has processed it." We keep the time you ticked it with the order.
No refunds
All sales are final. A domain registration cannot be cancelled or refunded once the registrar has processed it. If the registrar cannot register or renew a domain, we refund that domain's share of the payment, VAT included, with a credit note on your invoice.
Renewal
Renew from your dashboard, or from the link in the reminder emails we send 30 and 7 days before expiry. Automatic renewal is off by default. Turn it on per domain in the dashboard, or confirm an agent's request from the email we send you, and we charge your saved card 7 days before expiry, then renew. You can turn it off at any time. We save a card only when you add one for automatic renewal, on our payment provider Stripe's page. Stripe keeps it; we do not. We charge it only for the domains you put on automatic renewal, 7 days before expiry. We charge the default card you select with Stripe, or the last card you saved if the default is not an attached card. You can remove it at any time on Stripe's page, from "Manage payment method" in your account; removing a card or clearing the default payment method turns automatic renewal off for every domain. A renewal is an order like a registration: its price is shown before you pay, and it follows our registrar's cost with the same margin. If a domain is not renewed before its expiry date, it expires.
Expiry
After expiry, the registry's own grace and redemption periods apply, as shown on each order and on each extension page. Some extensions can be renewed at the normal price for a few weeks after expiry; some can only be restored for a fee; after that the domain is deleted and anyone can register it.
Transfers
You can move a domain to another registrar at any time: get its transfer code from the dashboard or with the get_auth_code tool, unlock it where the registry has a lock, and give the code to the new registrar. When an agent asks for the code or an unlock, we email the account owner a link, and nothing happens until the owner confirms it. The agent never gets the code: the owner sees it on the confirmation page. When you show the code in the dashboard, we email the account owner. Under ICANN's Transfer Policy, a registrar may refuse a transfer in the 60 days after a registration or a previous transfer. (ICANN Transfer Policy). Transfers of a domain into Registrar Domains are not offered yet.
Registrant data and WHOIS
Every registration sends the registrant's name, address, phone and email to the registrar and the registry, as their rules require. Public WHOIS and RDAP records show the domain, its dates, the registrar and the nameservers. For a registrant who is a person, the registries and our registrar redact the name, address, phone and email from the public record under the GDPR; Afnic does this for every .fr held by a person. A company's name can be published. Someone with a legitimate reason, such as a court or a rights holder, can ask the registrar or registry for the hidden data. We do not offer a privacy or proxy service. Details in the privacy notice.
Registrant verification
For most extensions the registry sends the registrant a link to confirm the email address. If it is not confirmed within 14 days, the domain is suspended until it is.
Domain disputes
A third party who believes a domain infringes their rights can bring a case under the dispute procedure of its extension. The outcome can transfer or delete the domain, and the registrar must apply it.
- .com, .net, .org, .xyz, .dev, .app, .ai and .co: the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP).
- .io: the .IO Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy, a variant of the UDRP (WIPO).
- .fr: Syreli and PARL Expert, the procedures of Afnic (Afnic).
- .eu: the .eu alternative dispute resolution of the Czech Arbitration Court (eu.adr.eu).
Abuse
To report a domain used for spam, phishing, malware or fraud, write to abuse@alphaoscar.fr with the domain name and what you saw. We forward reports to the registrar and act on them.
Support and complaints
For an order, a renewal or a domain, write to support@alphaoscar.fr.
Under articles L612-1 et seq. of the Code de la consommation, a consumer may refer a dispute free of charge to our consumer mediator, CM2C (Centre de Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice), 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, France, cm2c.net. Before that, the consumer must first try to settle the dispute with us in writing, at support@alphaoscar.fr.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. A consumer keeps the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where they live, and may bring a case before the courts of that country or of France.
